Queen Elizabeth will be laid to rest beside her parents and Prince Philip will be moved to join her


Queen Elizabeth came to the throne in 1952 and her tenure as head of state spanned post-war austerity, the transition from empire to Commonwealth, the end of the Cold War, and the UK’s entry into – and withdrawal from – the European Union.

The long-reigning monarch’s death was announced by The Palace saying,

“The Queen died peacefully at Balmoral this afternoon.

“The King and The Queen Consort will remain at Balmoral this evening and will return to London tomorrow.”

It became a sad moment for the UK and much of the world on hearing about her passing.

The Queen will follow a tradition that has seen her parents King George VI and Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother, as well as her sister, Princess Margaret, buried at King George VI Memorial Chapel, according to Page Six.

The Queen will be interred at the King George VI Memorial Chapel in Windsor Castle and her husband, Prince Phillip who died at the age of 99 will be moved to join her there.

“The death of my beloved Mother, Her Majesty The Queen, is a moment of the greatest sadness for me and all members of my family,” King Charles III went on to write in the wake of his mother’s death.

“We mourn profoundly the passing of a cherished Sovereign and a much-loved Mother. I know her loss will be deeply felt throughout the country, the Realms, and the Commonwealth, and by countless people around the world.

“During this period of mourning and change, my family and I will be comforted and sustained by our knowledge of the respect and deep affection in which The Queen was so widely held.”

The Queen was one of the most influential people in the world and respected and loved by many. Rest In Peace Queen Elizabeth, you will never be forgotten.
